A commonly accepted goal across the cement industry, as supported by the roadmaps of the GCCA, PCA, CEMBUREAU, and many others, is to reach carbon neutrality or ‘net zero’ by 2050.

And progress is certainly underway. As the realities of climate change start to hit home in the form of unprecedented high temperatures and changing weather patterns, hardly a day goes by without some new ‘green’ process or cement technology appearing in the news.

Whether the news is covering a new CCUS pilot project, a plant upgrade or overhaul, or even a novel cement formulation (like the one from researchers at MIT that could potentially be used to store electricity), it’s clear that decarbonisation has become a major objective for the industry.

However, despite the progress being made, the challenge of taking cement production from being one of the world’s largest polluters to a net zero emissions industry is no small feat. Technologies need to be developed and matured, policies and legislation need to evolve and adapt, and insights and understanding of new processes and their implementation need to be shared.

It was with the aim of helping tackle this challenge that we announced EnviroTech as World Cement’s first in-person conference and exhibition. Taking place on 10 – 13 March, 2024, EnviroTech will bring together industry leaders, technical experts, and other stakeholders from the world’s leading cement producers and equipment suppliers to discuss the latest technologies, processes, and policies being deployed at the forefront of the industry’s journey to net zero.

Attending EnviroTech will allow you to enjoy a 2.5 day conference agenda packed with keynotes and technical presentations from experts, network and share insights with industry peers, and explore an exhibition featuring leading players in the cement industry.

Our first-class venue, Hotel Cascais Miragem Health & Spa, is located in front of the Atlantic Ocean, overlooking Estoril and Cascais Bay, and is just 30 minutes from Lisbon’s international airport. Featuring a 2500 m2 conference area, exhibition space, multiple meeting rooms, and state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, it offers the ideal location for this flagship event.

Excited to take part in the discussion? Well, there’s good news: registration for EnviroTech is now open! And we’re offering an exclusive early-bird rate that can save you up to €390. To secure your place, register today at:
