Loesche receives order for new mill for Haria plant

World Cement,

Loesche has received an order to supply a vertical roller mill to Aman Group’s Haria cement plant in Narayangonj, Bangladesh. The LM 56.3+3 CS mill will have a production capacity of 240 tph of Portland and composite cement clinker or 175 tpy of ground-granulated blastfurnace slag.

The contractor for the order is the China National Heavy Machinery Corp., who had previous experience with a first LM 56.3+3 CS mill installed at Haria’s first cement production line. The second mill was supplied in late 2016 and will see production at the plant increase to 10 000 tpd.

In addition to the mill, Loesche has supplied additional technical equipment for the grinding plant, e.g. rotary feed, two-way chute, metal detector and permanent magnet drum separator.

Bangladesh is one of the fastest growing markets for cement but has limited domestic production capacity, relying on imported clinker from China and Thailand. The government is now pushing domestic production, however, introducing import duties on cement to reduce the country’s reliance on imports.
