Dalmia Cement picks up six awards from NCB

Dalmia Cement, a subsidiary of Dalmia Bharat Ltd and a leading Indian cement producer, has picked up awards in six categories at the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB) National Awards. The awards covered 2015-16 and 2016-17 and were presented at the biennial NCB International Seminar on Cement, Concrete and Building Materials in New Delhi.
“We are honoured to receive these prestigious awards from NCB, said Mahendra Singhi, Group CEO of Dalmia Bharat Cement. “We are extremely delighted to be acknowledged for our efforts in making a greener environment.”
The awards included four for the company’s Dalmiapuram plant: Best Electrical Energy Performance (2005-16), 2nd Best Environmental Excellence in Cement Plants (2015-16), Best Improvement in Electrical Energy Performance (2016-17) and 2nd Best Improvement in Thermal Energy Performance (2016-17).
The Aliyalur plant meanwhile picked up two awards: Best Environmental Excellence (2016-17) and Best Electrical Energy Performance (2016-17). Both Aliyalur and Dalmiapuram plants are located in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
“These awards will inspire us to continue our endeavour for the betterment of our environment and our mother nature," concluded Singhi.
Dalmia Cement currently has cement capacity of 25 million t, making it the fourth largest cement producer by capacity in India. The company’s operations are located across eight states and 11 manufacturing units. In addition to more traditional cements, the company is a market leader in the production speciality cements used in oil wells, railway sleepers, and airstrips, as well as being the largest producer of slag cements.
