Eurocement’s holdings in Russia see an increase in cement production

Eurocement’s holdings in Russia have seen an increase in cement production in 2013 compared to 2012.

Kavkazcement JSC

During the first ten months of 2013, Kavkazcement produced 1.87 million t of clinker, a 3.2% y/y compared to the same period in 2012. The manufacturer has also witnessed a rise in cement production and the shipment of finished products. During the first ten months of 2013, 2.11 million t of cement was produced, an increase of 2.1%, or 44 000 t, y/y compared to the same period in 2012. Shipments of finished products rose by 1.1%, or 23 100 t, y/y to 2.11 million t and shipments of bagged cement increased by 21.8% y/y to 417 013 t in comparison with the same period in 2012.

Ulyanovskcement JSC

Ulyanovskcement JSC has shown an increase in production in the first ten months of 2013. During this period, the company produced 1.6 million t of cement and 1.32 million t of clinker, a 4% and 5% increase, respectively, from the same period last year. In October 2013, the company produced 186 000 t of cement, a 19%, or 29 000 t, rise compared to 2012 and shipped 182 000 t of cement to customers, 116% more than the level achieved in 2012. For the first ten months of 2013, the company shipped its customers 1.62 million t of cement, a 4% increase y/y, or 69 000 t. The growth in shipments of finished goods by road stood at 15%. Steady growth was also noted in shipments of bagged cement. Some 14% more cement containers were shipped than during the same period in 2012.

Lipetskcement JSC

Lipetskcement JSC continued the trend of growth in production and shipment of cement in the first ten months of 2013. In October 2013, the plant produced 109 500 t of cement, a 2.2% increase over October 2012. During the month, the company shipped its customer’s 16% more products than in October 2012. The volume of cement shipments by rail increased by 25.2% to 66 937 t, while self-pickup increased by 6.4% to 55 753 t. During the first ten months of 2013, customers were shipped 1.27 million t of cement, a 26.2% increase y/y. The volume of shipments of cement by rail reached 820 218 t, exceeding shipments in 2012 by 42.5%. Shipments by road increased by 4.3% to 18 312 t. In total, cement production in January – October 2013 amounted to 1.24 million t, an increase of 25 % y/y, or 250 000 t. There was also an 18.3% increase in the production of bagged cement in the first ten months of 2013. During this period, Lipetskcement produced 171 956 t of bagged products, 26 658 t more than in 2012.

Maltsovsky Portlandcement JSC

Maltsovsky Portlandcement JSC produced 3.08 million t of cement during the first ten months of 2013, an increase of 15.5% y/y over the same period in 2012. The total shipments of cement in January – October 2013 rose by 14.2% y/y, amounting to 3.11 million t. Cement delivered by road significantly increased, reaching 29.9% of the total cement shipped, or 713 960. Some 70.1%, or 2.4 million t of finished goods were sent to customers by rail.
