SAMSON Materials Handling Ltd has announced its new model STORMAJOR machine, designed to improve handling and stability in the loading and reception of bulk materials.
The new generation design will be available in three models: STORMAJOR 380 series, for materials such as cereals, fertilizer, or alternative fuels, STORMAJOR 450 series, for materials such as additives, light materials, or fertilizer, and the STORMAJOR 800 series, for heavier minerals or ores, sand, and gravel.
The machine combines a mobile truck unloader with a moveable boom, allowing the operators of ports, goods depots, and stockpiles to receive bulk materials directly from trucks, front-end loaders, or other loading equipment, before loading them into vessels or railway wagons. The new STORMAJOR is fully mobile, for the efficient stockpiling of bulk materials.
The new design is engineered to deal with a wide range of requirements in ports and terminals, as well as being reliable and easy to maintain. For example, bulk materials with particularly poor flow properties can be actively shaken, as the feed section of the main chute is completely decoupled from the conveying sections.
The new STORMAJOR also offers a choice of engine and drives, meaning the conveying sections can be either electrically or hydraulically driven. Self-driven versions can be equipped with diesel generator sets of various emission standards. The main drive concept relies on off-site power supplies or pumps and generators driven by the diesel generator sets. An additional distribution gear directly flanged onto the diesel generator set allows the “power twin” to set new standards.
A large range of extra features allow each STORMAJOR to be tailored to the specific requirements of each application. These features include additional transfer chute systems, various lining options for chutes and conveyors, dedusting solutions, additional enclosures for the conveying sections, operation and maintenance platforms, operator cabins, and lighting packages.
SAMSON is part of the AUMUND Group, which is active worldwide. They are conveying and storage specialists with expertise in dealing with bulk materials.
