Saint-Gobain has announced that it will be celebrating its 350th anniversary at Ecobuild 2015. The show, which will be held in London on 3 – 5 March 2015, will also see the launch of the company’s Multi-Comfort concept.

“Ecobuild is an important event in our calendar, as it’s a place for the industry to come together to discuss key issues and showcase innovation. We have a number of exciting events and surprises planned for Ecobuild, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand and introducing them to Saint-Gobain’s vision for the future,” said Richard Halderthay, Director of Communication for Saint-Gobain UK, Ireland and South Africa.

Saint-Gobain is marking its 350th year with a number of events involving both customers and consumers. In addition to a new website launch and an online game for smart devices, the company has developed four interactive, futuristic pavilions that will travel around the world to showcase Saint-Gobain’s ‘350 reasons to believe in the future’.

In the UK, the group will also focus on initiatives based around industry issues such as skills development, attracting young people into the sector, and improving the UK’s existing building stock.

The company was founded in 1665, when it produced glass on an industrial scale for King Louis XIV’s Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles, France.

“There is strength in our history, as it proves that we can continue to innovate, reinvent ourselves over time and meet the demands of an ever changing world,” said Peter Hindle, MBE, Senior Vice President for Sustainable Habitat and General Delegate Saint-Gobain UK, Ireland and South Africa. “Sustainable habitat is within our reach, and if we continue to innovate as we have throughout our rich history, habitat for everyone is achievable.”
