Fives FCB finalises license agreement with FCT ACTech

World Cement,

Fives FCB has finalised a license agreement with FCT ACTech for the marketing and supply of the COSMATM system. This online analysing technology uses X-ray diffraction to provide automatic and direct measurement of mineral phases of all types of material analysed, from clinker to cement and minerals. The new license enlarges Fives FCB’s range of products and services in process control optimisation.

Olivier Vanlerenberghe, Director of Business Development, at Fives FCB, said: “Through this license, Fives FCB is widening its portfolio of products for process control & plant optimization while sharing with FCT ACTech the same vision that innovative technologies can bring the best benefits to plant operations. This development gives Fives FCB the opportunity to leverage the COSMA™ technology within our plant’s design and revamping projects and brings new solutions to clients for their operations.”

The COSMAtechnology allows users to develop on-line and real-time data trends that enable an automated process monitoring and control (burning lines & grinding units for cement industries, raw material and separation process for mineral industries). The system can be installed on both new and existing lines and offers users the opportunity to reduce fuel and energy consumption while improving product output and consistency.

Constantine Manias, Managing Director of the FCT group said: “We are extremely pleased to have reached this agreement with Fives FCB. The innovative COSMA™, developed to improve the production efficiency and product quality in cement manufacture, raises the bar in process control where we believe real time continuous measurement will increasingly become the norm. Fives FCB is an excellent partner for the deployment of this value adding technology to industry.”
