Terex Construction announces new site dumper technology additions

Terex Construction has announced a suite of new technical additions to its market-leading range of Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Final-compliant nine and ten tonne site dumpers.

Introduced as part of a continued strategic initiative to set new standards in the compact equipment marketplace, the technologies will improve model productivity, reduce maintenance requirements and deliver greater fuel economies for operators and site managers alike.

The first new technology – Stop-Start Control – has been designed with safety in mind. With suitable interlocks in place to prevent unexpected movement, the third-party reviewed system will automatically start and stop the engine in predetermined conditions. Compliant with ISO13849 functional safety, the innovative technology means that, when loading materials, site managers will no longer have to worry about equipment being left running throughout the day and night.

The introduction of this brand new engine management technology will reduce hours on the clock, provide fuel savings and extend service intervals. Tested duty cycles have shown potential fuel savings of £283 per year as well as extending service intervals by 24 weeks (on a typical 500 hour maintenance schedule). The Stop-Start technology is patent pending, promoting Terex’s leadership in technology development, as well as supporting sustainability initiatives in construction.

Complementing Stop-Start Control, the latest ten-tonne model now contains a powershift transmission as standard. Available with either a manual or optional automatic shift technology, this addition will allow even smoother and more efficient gear shifts, helping you to maintain speed when you need it most. Autoshift has been developed by Terex engineers to change gear at optimised points based on both laden and un-laden profiles on varied terrain and ground conditions, promoting improved fuel efficiency, productivity and simpler operation. All updates will also be available for the popular nine tonne model.
