World Cement,

Russia’s Eurocement Group has completed the modernisation project at Mordovcement, which sees two lines upgraded to dry and semi-dry. The semi-dry clinker production line was put into operation on 20 April. The purpose of the modernisation was to reduce specific fuel consumption and achieve more stable production, which will also benefit the plant’s emissions output. At the beginning of April, the dry cement production line was completed, which will increase kiln throughput by 35%.

Meanwhile, at the Peterburgtsement plant, a meeting was held with the President of the Eurocement Group, Mikhail Skorokhod, to discuss the completion of the project to convert the clinker production line to the dry process. The burner was lit on 15 April after the completion of major repairs and on 21 April the overhauled line reached its design capacity of 5000 tpd of clinker.

Both plants were brought into the Eurocement Group in December 2014.
