IKN and GMK form partnership to develop waste heat recovery systems
Germany’s GMK Gesellschaft für Motoren und Kraftanlagen mbH and IKN GmbH signed a Memorandum of Understanding last week to form an exclusive partnership with the aim of developing and marketing waste heat recovery systems (WHRS) for the cement sector.
GMK specialises in Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC)-based power generation equipment, including its INDUCAL® product line for industrial applications, while IKN provides pyro-related solutions to the cement industry. Under the partnership, the two companies will adapt the ORC process for an efficient integration of waste heat recovery systems into cement kilns and clinker coolers.
The MoU signing was attended by Aldo Piacentini-Timm (GMK), Wilhelm Uebachs (GERMANIA Technologieholding), Klaas Windmöller and Justus von Wedel (both representing IKN).
