The Eurocement Group Holding is to provide consumers with the opportunity to purchase tared cement in high-quality polypropylene (PP) bags. This is the result of a strategic cooperation between Eurocement group and SIBUR, one of the largest Russian producers of PP.

Laboratory tests have confirmed the high quality and useful properties of PP bags. Now, the group is conducting a large-scale testing of new packaging under actual operating conditions, which enables customers to evaluate the benefits of this proposal and give feedback.

According to the group, new packaging has a number of advantages, both for large cement buyers and for those who need to solve standard construction problems. These advantages include the following:

Strength – PP bags with a minimum weight have increased strength and withstand high mechanical and shock loads, as a result of which packaging remains intact even when dropped from a height of several metres. The material is not subject to erosion and preserves the useful qualities of cement during loading, unloading, transportation, and storage.

Environmentally friendly – PP bags are non-toxic, do not emit harmful substances, and can be recycled. After processing, PP granules are used to manufacture new products, which reduces the need for the involvement of primary natural resources.

Durability – Due to their higher strength, the bags can be used for the collection and disposal of garbage, including construction waste.

Anti-counterfeit – During the manufacture of PP bags, a number of technological solutions can be implemented that serve as a guarantee of the quality and safety of products. A bag with similar strength characteristics cannot be produced in an artisanal way, which will additionally protect consumers of Eurocement group products from counterfeit.

KONTI has become the producer of packaging for the Eurocement Group and is a partner of SIBUR Holding. All products are manufactured on modern Austrian equipment, meaning it meets international quality standards.

“We have added the Eurocement Group product line with cement tared in PP packaging,” said Ilya Kosykh, Vice President of Sales for Eurocement Group. “Thanks to this, our customers were able to choose the purchase format that is most convenient for them in terms of subsequent transportation, storage, and disposal. Cooperation with SIBUR allows us to offer customers PP packaging that meets international quality standards.”

“SIBUR sees as its priority the expansion of the possibility of efficient use of polymers both in the production of products already existing on the market and in creating unique innovative product solutions necessary for the technological development of construction, housing and public utilities, and other industries,” said Sergey Komyshan, Member of the Board and Executive Director at SIBUR. “The partnership with the Eurocement Group will allow the participants of the construction market to offer modern packaging that has received recognition of the global market.”
