World Cement,
According to Tamer Saka, the Chairman of Turk Cimnento, Turkey exported 30 million t of cement in 2020, with a value of almost US$1 billion, making the country the world's second-largest exporter of cement.
During an online press conference, Saka noted that: "The industry is ranked first in Europe and 6th in the world in terms of both production capacity and sales" - he also mentioned that the Turkish cement industry's total production capacity is 100 million t.
Saka added: "The sector has been selling cement to important big projects in the US and they prefer Turkey because both price, quality, and service differentiate us from others."
Turk Cimento's Vice President, Nihat Ozdemir, highlighted how the Turkish cement industry had performed well, despite the challenges of the pandemic: "During this troubled period, we could manage to sell our products to the whole world. Towards the end of 2020, all our factories are marching towards the end of the year, selling almost all of their products. I believe we will continue this success in 2021."
