Cement consumption down 11% y/y in Andalucía in October 2014
Cement consumption in Andalucía fell by 11% y/y in October 2014, dropping to 175 382 t. In the first ten months of the year, consumption in the region totalled approximately 1.52 million t, down 2.9% y/y.
As a point of comparison, cement consumption in Cataluña grew by 4.3% y/y in October 2014. In Spain as a whole, domestic consumption was up 5% y/y to around 1.04 million t during the month.
Cement consumption is projected to reach 1.8 million t in 2014 in Andalucía, a decline of 2% y/y and one of the lowest figures in the last 50 years.
