Eurocement Group holds environmental meeting

Sengileevskaya Cement, part of the Eurocement Group, held an environmental meeting in the Ulyanovsk region, Russia, which included a tour of the cement plant and planting trees on reclaimed land. The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources, Dmitry Fyodorov, Chief Ecologist of the Ulyanovsk region, Alexander Bragin, and Chairman of the Environmental Chamber of the Ulyanovsk region, Alexei Sidorov, attended the event. A member of the Environmental Chamber, Ulyana Zyryanov, Environmental Engineer of the Budgetary Institution ‘Department of Architecture, Building and Roads’, Oleg Simurzin, also attended the meeting.
As part of the event, the participants were able to witness the entire process of environmentally friendly cement production, and the efficient ‘dry’ method. The company showed the visitors the gas turbine power plant, cement grinding, and packing and shipping areas. Attention was focused on the filter bag in 2617 BF1, which is intended for the treatment of hot exhaust gases from the raw material and clinker dust.
In the second part of the meeting, guests visited an old municipal landfill site, which the company has turned into a landscape picnic area. Guests planted trees and were given seeds to take away to continue this tradition.
