World Cement,

Appearing for the second time at CQMS, Embankment Machinery Sales (EMS), based in Naas in Co. Kildare in Ireland, is exhibiting a range of Doosan construction equipment products for the first time at the show. This range includes the DX10Z, DX17Z, DX19, and DX57W-5 mini-excavators, as well as the much larger DX235LC-5 23 t and DX340LC-5 36 t crawler excavators. The Doosan display will also include the DX85R-3 8.5 t mini-excavator, the DX140LCR-5 15 t crawler excavator, and the DX140W-5 14 t wheeled excavator.

EMS has exclusivity sales and service in Leinster for the full range of Doosan crawler and wheeled excavators, from 3 to 53 t, and the full range of Doosan wheel loader models with bucket capacities from 1.9 to 6.4 m3. In addition, EMS sells a range of Doosan mini- and midi-excavators from 1 to 8.5 t throughout the Republic of Ireland, except for Donegal. EMS is also the Authorised Dealer for the Bobcat telehandler range in Leinster, and will be showing the Bobcat T41.140SLP 14 m telehandler on its stand at CQMS.

The DX235LC-5 is a standard configuration machine (2.99 m) that complements the narrow width and reduced radius models from Doosan. It meets the needs of customers looking for a machine with higher performance and stability than the Doosan DX225LC-5 22 t model and also compares favourably with the power and productivity offered by the bigger DX255LC-5 model. The digging depth of the DX235LC-5 is 6080 mm, the digging height is 9450 mm, and the digging reach is 9465 mm.

The DX340LC-5 is powered by the Scania DC9 5-cylinder diesel engine, with an output of 237 kW of power at 1800 rpm, providing a 13% increase in engine power and a 4% boost in torque over the previous model. As well as a digging depth of 7535 mm, the DX340LC-5 offers a digging reach of 11170 mm and the digging height of 10315 mm.

Expanded range of telehandlers

Offering stabilisers and frame levelling and positioning as standard, the T41.140SLP has a maximum lifting capacity of 4100 kg, a maximum lifting height of 13656 mm, and a maximum horizontal reach of 9449 mm. High performance is ensured by the Bobcat D34 diesel engine developed in-house.

Manufactured at the company’s plant at Pontchâteau (Loire Atlantique) in France, the T41.140SLP is part of a new expanded range of 13 Bobcat rigid frame telehandlers for the construction and rental industries, backed by a three year/3000 hour warranty as standard. The 13 telehandler models cover maximum lifting capacities between 2.6 and 4.3 t, with lifting heights from 6 to 18 m.

CQMS is Ireland’s biggest construction machinery sales event and the only one of its kind in the country, with over 10 000 visitors expected to visit over the two days of the show, to inspect €70 million worth of construction and quarrying machines. Sales of construction plant machinery in Ireland are recovering strongly since the recession, growing back to 2500 items of new machinery sold last year compared to just 300 units sold during 2010 when the construction crash was at its worst.
