Cemex UK won 13 awards at this year’s Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards. The awards recognised significant safety achievements within all areas of the Cemex business – concrete, cement, aggregates, asphalt, building products, rail, logistics, marine and ash.“It is an outstanding achievement to win so many health and safety awards and to be recognised for our work in this area, especially when you consider the challenging environment of our industry,” said Andy Taylor, Health and Safety Director. “Each business area presents its own health and safety risks and challenges which must be addressed.”

“2013 was a significant year when we reduced our employee lost time injuries to one. But as we all know, safety has no memory, we must continue to look after ourselves and look after each other, protecting our employees, contractors and the communities in which we operate. Our number one priority is zero injuries,” continued Taylor.
