Cemex UK achieves Gold standard for vehicle operations

The UK division of Mexican cement producer Cemex has achieved the Gold FORS standard nationwide – making it one of only 22 companies out of 4915 registered members to reach this level. FORS is the Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme, a voluntary certification scheme, run by Transport for London. Cemex UK received the Gold standard for its London operations just over a year ago. Achieving the Gold level guarantees standards in management, vehicles, drivers and operations based upon lawfulness, safety, efficiency and environmental protection.

The nationwide standard is more demanding and required Cemex to provide evidence for all its operations covering over 400 vehicles operating throughout the country.

Craig Williamson, Logistics Director, Cemex UK comments “Our vehicles cover over 15 million miles per annum and we aim to do everything we can to reduce the risk of accidents for the benefit of everyone on the roads.  Reaching the standards for the Gold level requires that our vehicles and drivers are operating to the highest standard and helping to improve road safety everywhere we operate.”
