In Bulgaria, the government has issued three permits for building materials exploration, which have been granted to Zlatna Panega Tsiment (the Bulgarian division of Greece’s Titan Cement), Yaguar 02 and Inerni materiali – Yambol. According to reports, Zlatna Panega and Yaguar 02 were each issued 1-year permits for the Dobrevtsi and Kamaka sites, respectively, while Inertni materiali – Yambol was granted a 6-month permit for the Pitovo site.

Each company must invest a minimum of BGN205 000 in the development of the quarries and BGN17 000 on environmental conservation activities.

Titan Cement has been present in Bulgaria for 10 years. In December, Titan Bulgaria was awarded a Special Award for Comprehensive and Sustainable OH&S at the National Awards for Occupational Health and Safety.
