MPA to hold summit on public safety at disused quarries
The Mineral Products Association (MPA) has announced that it will be organising a summit to discuss public safety at former quarry sites in the UK. The event will bring together those who own or manage disused and restored quarries, the emergency services, safety organisations, regulatory bodies and environmental groups, as well as recreational and sporting organisations.
The MPA currently increases public awareness of the dangers of unauthorised access to quarry sites through its annual ‘Stay Safe’ initiative, which is run in partnership with MPA members.
