Howden has announced that it has acquired Balcke-Dürr Rothemühle GmbH from Mutares SE & Co. The transaction closed on 29 Jan 2021.
Rothemühle was established in 1936 in Olpe, Germany, and is a leading global provider of air preheaters, gas-gas heaters and related heat recovery equipment.
The acquisition of Rothemühle expands Howden’s capabilities in delivering environmental and energy technology solutions to its customers. The acquisition also provides Howden with additional service capability in Germany and allows customers that are part of Rothemühle’s extensive global installed base to access products and services through Howden’s global network.
“We are pleased to finalise our deal with Mutares SE & Co and welcome the Rothemühle team to Howden. Rothemühle's service and product offerings support our environmental technology efforts by reducing emissions and improving customers’ plant operating efficiencies. The acquisition allows us to strengthen our product presence and grow in the German market, as well as giving Rothemühle customers’ access to Howden’s global network”, said Ross B Shuster, CEO of Howden.
Andreas Walker, Director of Balcke-Dürr Rothemühle GmbH, added: “We believe Howden is the ideal new owner to lead our company into the next phase of internationalisation, both in terms of products and technology. We are pleased to now formally join the Howden team.”
