Spanish cement consumption remains volatile

According to Oficemen, the Spanish cement association, cement consumption in Spain was up more than 5% y/y in the year to the end of November at more than 10.5 million t. It is expected to close at more than 11 million t by year-end. In November, Spanish cement consumption grew 13.8% to 1.009 million t.

Oficemen reports that cement consumption in Spain is still less than half what it ought to be overall. CEO Aniceto Zaragoza explained that the market has not yet stabilised, having grown at a rate of 8% in 1H15 and 2% so far in 2H15.
