The 46 year-old manager will drive the further development and integration of digital offerings within the mechanical engineering company’s portfolio. He will be reporting to the Chairman of the Board, Dr Uwe Lauber.
“As a creative mission, digitisation goes way beyond the development of technologies”, explains Dr. Uwe Lauber. “It is an approach and way of thinking that involves interdisciplinary networking, data analysis and interaction. More than ever before, we want to embed this mentality at all levels within MAN Diesel & Turbo – from corporate strategy through to customer service and product development. We are delighted to have found an experienced expert in Audi Lucas.”
Before moving to MAN, Lucas was employed at the global consultancy firm Wipro Technologies as Director of Connected Products and Platform Development Leader. Other previous roles included time at the GE industrial group, where he had a senior position as Service Systems Program Manager for GE’s Jenbacher Motoren. He has accrued a wealth of experience in the fields of strategic marketing, after-sales service and the implementation of new and disruptive technologies and methods.
“Digitalisation is not as much about technology as it is about addressing friction points in the market; the problems our customers face in their daily business. Then finding new ways and business opportunities to address those points in a blindingly fast and agile way. For MAN Diesel & Turbo its being able to unite a company with a wonderful heritage and market presence with the agility, innovation, and speed of a start-up”, so Lucas.
