ABB wins supply contract for Turkish greenfield cement plant
In July, ABB won a contract to supply electrification, automation and drive solutions for Medcem, part of Eren Holding. Medcem’s greenfield cement plant will be located in Mersin, Turkey, and will have a 10 000 tpd clinker capacity, the largest production capacity in the country. Startup is scheduled for March 2014.
ABB will provide a state-of-the-art control system 800xA, ACS800 series low voltage drives, ACS1000 and ACS6000 series medium drives, process optimisation software, medium and low voltage electrical motors, as well as ZS1 series medium voltage cubicles and MNS series low voltage cubicles. The scope of supply also includes site erection, installation, commissioning and services.
