World Cement,
Sandvik Coromant is joining a new lab research centre, called the ‘Powertrain Manufacturing for Heavy Vehicles Application Lap’ (PMH Application Lab), as an ‘Industrial Partner’.
The research centre has been established by the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, the German research organization Fraunhofer, and Research institutes of Sweden (RISE). It was inaugurated on 13 September at KTH in Stockholm, Sweden, with the two other industrial partners: Volvo and Scania.
The primary focus of the PMH Application Lab will be improving the powertrain production process. This involves material selection and machining of camshafts and engines. Sandvik Coromant has been active in selecting the focus areas and the initial projects and is now involved in three of the main projects.
