World Cement,

According to a report by Reuters, on 14 January the Baltic Exchange's main sea freight index reached a record low for the eighth straight session, damaged by weaker global demand.

The overall index, which gauges the cost of shipping dry bulk cargoes including cement was down 11 points, or 2.79%, at 383 points.

The index has dropped by approximately 20% this year and on 13 January fell below 400 points for the first time on record.

The capesize, panamax and handysize indices also touched record lows on 14 January.
