Atlas Copco’s acquisition of Varisco completed

On 9 December 2015, Atlas Copco announced that it had agreed to acquire the Italian pump manufacturer Varisco. On 12 January 2016, the company announced that the acquisition had been completed.

Founded in 1932, Varisco is based in Padua, Italy, with about 135 employees and its revenues in 2014 came to MEUR30. Varisco is known for the design and manufacture of high-quality pumps that are used by a wide range of customers. The pumps are typically used to remove unwanted water and other liquids in the construction, mining and oil and gas industries, as well as in industrial process plants and for emergency services in case of floods.

Varisco will become part of Atlas Copco’s Portable Energy division in the Construction Technique business area.
