World Cement,
At the beginning of 2020, Rohrdorfer started to build a new gravel plant south-east of Stockerau, opposite the Kaiserrast rest area. Rohrdorfer will set up and operate a gravel washing plant on site. Sand and gravel to supply ready-mixed concrete plants are to be produced at the new location.
The raw material is extracted from an excavated lake. The Rohrdorfer ready-mixed concrete plants in Spillern and Klosterneuburg are currently supplied by the gravel plants in the Krems and Marchfeld area. The new location enables local supplies, significantly reducing transport routes and making an important contribution to environmental protection.
The gravel treatment plant under construction is state-of-the-art and 100% electrically operated. According to current planning, the plant will go into regular production from June.
