His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, visited 4B Braime Group in its 130th year. Price Edward, first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II and President of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, visited the 4B Braime Group’s headquarters and principle manufacturing factory in Hunslet, Leeds on 28 May. The Duke was given a tour around the Braime factory, which is a landmark Grade 2 listed building, where period features and historic machines can be seen next to ultra-modern automated production lines. The factory tour was followed by the presentation of a plaque and a buffet in the canteen with 4B’s employees.
“It is a great honour to receive the Duke,” said Nicholas Braime, Chairman of the Braime Group. This marks the second royal visit in the company’s history, the last taking place in 1917 by Princess Mary, who opened the first canteen in the UK to be built for female employees.
