Swiss cement deliveries up in 2016

Domestic deliveries of cement by Swiss cement producers increased by 1.6% in 4Q16, compared to the same period in 2015, according to figures from the Swiss cement association, cemsuisse.
This rounded out a strong year for cement deliveries in the country, which grew by 4.2% in 2016.
Total deliveries hit almost 4.4 million t. Of this, 52.1% was transported by rail. 73.5% was delivered to ready-mixed concrete plants, while 19.6% was delivered to onsite concrete plants at large construction sites.
