Tarmac’s contracting division has retained the prestigious Investors inPeople (IiP) Gold Award in recognition of its approach to people developments and the way the business communicates to employees on how they can support the company’s strategy and ongoing success.
The IiP Gold Award celebrates companies that perform better beyond the core IiP Standard and is awarded to organisations that can demonstrate that they operate high quality people management practices including learning and development, leadership skills and recognition and reward of employees. Tarmac’s Contracting business has worked with IiP for the last 11 years and first gained national accreditation to the IiP standard in 2009 having previously received accreditation at a number of individual sites.
Paul Fleetham, managing director of Tarmac Contracting said: “I’m very proud that we have retained this renowned accreditation and I am grateful to my team for the hard work that has gone into achieving it. Our people are our biggest asset and this award clearly demonstrates the value we place on people development and engagement.”
Peter Taylor, IiP, managing assessor, said: “I congratulate Tarmac for retaining their Gold accreditation, particularly during a period of change in the business, including two changes of ownership.”
