Steppe Cement’s sales volumes up 16% y/y in 3Q14
Kazakhstan cement producer, Steppe Cement, has reported revenue of KZT7,652 million in 3Q14, an improvement on the KZT7,235 million achieved in 3Q13. Approximately 582 429 t of cement was sold in the quarter, up 16% y/y.
Both volumes and revenue also increased in the first nine months of the year. Revenue in January – September 2014 came in at KZT16,778 million, compared to KZT15,399 million in the corresponding period in 2013. Sales volumes rose by 21% y/y to reach around 1.29 million t.
As of September, Steppe Cement’s market share in Kazakhstan was 19%. The country’s cement market grew 5% in the first nine months of this year. Cement imports accounted for 14% of domestic consumption, down from 20%.
