Hanson UK’s new national customer service centre, located at Watermead Business Park, Syston, in Leicestershire, has opened for business.
150 ordering, sales administration and distribution staff have transferred from an aging building off of Ashby Road in Shepshed into One Marlborough Court. The remainder of the 240+ team will join them by the end of the year.
Finola Timmins, general manager of the customer service centre, said: “Having the combined group under one roof will help improve the service we offer to our customers and the design of this outstanding building will also contribute to us working together more effectively.”
A number of staff from Hanson’s offices at Allington near Maidstone and Ketton in Rutland will be relocating to Syston and the company will also be recruiting up to 70 new employees.
Over 150 staff and their families attended an open day at the new office on Saturday, allowing them to check out the state-of-the-art building for the first time. Located close to the M1 and A46, it will also provide meeting and large conference facilities for Hanson’s wider business as well as a dedicated training facility for customer service staff.
