Loesche wins several important contracts around the world

World Cement,

Increasing capacity at Zahana

CBMI, contracting on behalf of Societé des Ciments de Zahana, Algeria, has opted for a Loesche Mill Type LM 48.4 for the capacity expansion project at the Zahana plant.

This vertical roller mill will replace the existing mill and will achieve a capacity of 425 tph raw material with a fineness of 14% R 90 µm. The mill motor is designed for a capacity of 2400 kW.

In addition to the VRM, Loesche will supply a hot gas generator LOMA Type LF36 and all spare parts required. Delivery of the equipment is planned in 12 months according to contract, while commissioning is scheduled for 2H2013.

3600 tpd clinker for Benin

In Benin, the new Masse cement plant located 8 km north of the capital, Porto Novo, plans to produce 3600 tpd of clinker. Again the contract came via CBMI, the turnkey contractor for this new line, which belongs to Nouvelle Cimenterie du Benin.

The chosen mill is a 320 tph LM 56.4 vertical roller mill for raw material grinding with a fineness of 12% R 90 µm.

The mill will be designed to grind material with maximum feed material moisture of 21%. The mill motor is designed for a capacity of 3000 kW.

Delivery of the equipment is planned in 12 months according to contract, while commissioning is scheduled for mid-2013.

Two slag mills in Daqiuzhuang

The Zhasan Youfa Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., run by government-owned Tianjin Metallurgy Group and another Youfa Company, has placed an order for two LM 4600 CS 2 slag mills from Loesche China via Loesche Mills (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.

The contract became effective as of April 2012 and the components are due to be delivered by the end of 2012. Commissioning is scheduled for the beginning of 2013.

In order to ensure all the processes run smoothly, Loesche was also responsible for project management, commissioning, erection supervision.

Loesche supplies Europe's largest cement mill to Turkey

NURYOL Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. has opted for Loesche mills for coal grinding, cement raw material grinding and clinker grinding for its new 4000 4000 tpd cement plant project in Karasu. The scope of supply includes the following:

  • 1 x LM 46.4 for raw material grinding at 330 tph at 12% R90 µm.
  • 1 x LM 28.2 D for coal grinding at 30 tph at 3% R90 µm.
  • 1 x LM 63.3+3 for OPC grinding at 240 tph at a Blaine fineness of 3800 cm2/g. The order includes process filter and fan. This is the largest VRM for cement grinding in Turkey as well as in Europe. It will have a table diameter of 6.3 m and will be driven by a 7200 kW motor.

Project execution and coordination will be carried out by Ankara-based SINTEK Mining Machinery Industry Construction.

The Loesche mills were chosen on the basis of their reputation for excellent product quality, high availability, low energy consumption and compact plant design.

The Compact Plant Design eliminates the necessity for a large and expensive mill building, leading to massive savings in required plant plot, in cost for structural steelworks and civil works as well as in erection time. The design is possible due to Loesche’s new LDC classifier, which

is equipped with a patented gas flow straightener called "VORTEX Rectifier". This ensures an already homogeneous airstream at the classifier exit, enabling a horizontal mill exit directly into the mill filter. Among other benefits, this leads to a reduced pressure drop of the mill system and hence savings in the specific power consumption of the complete grinding system.

In Turkey, LOESCHE works together with their Partners from Taylan-Etker T.L.S. with head office in Istanbul.
