World Cement,
PCI Augsburg GmbH has received a silver certificate for industrial facilities from The German Sustainable Building Council for its site in Augsburg.
The certificate was awarded on 6 October 2015 at the DGNB stand at the EXPO REAL trade fair in Munich. The certificate confirms the PCI plant’s high standards not only with reference to environmental, economic and socio-cultural aspects but also with respect to technical and process quality.
The PCI plant at Augsburg is the first facility of a construction material manufacturer to obtain this certificate.
Various factors were taken into consideration for the certification. These included the integration of the plant into the urban landscape, the quality of the environment available to employees and logistics within the plant. The other criteria used for the certification of buildings to DGNB standards such as drinking water and wastewater management, accessibility and safety were also included in the analysis.
