BHS-Sonthofen invests €7 million in Sonthofen site
The new building is being constructed to serve the continuous growth of the company, which delivers systems for mechanical processing technologies, including machines for mixing, crushing, recycling and filtration in the construction and building materials industry, in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as for environmental and waste management technology.
The new administration building provides employees with a modern working environment, which can be flexibly adapted to changing needs. The completion of the new building is planned for June 2012.
Angelo Schmandra, Managing Director at BHS-Sonthofen said: “In particular for machines and systems for environmental and recycling technology and filtration systems, we have observed steadily increasing order volume; there is no sign that this trend will change for some time. Therefore, we need more space.”
The warehouse
A new warehouse for large parts in the new intermediate storage facility for finished parts was inaugurated on 23 May. With the new hall, BHS expands its storage capacity from 1800 to approximately 3800 m². Until now, large parts were stored in a warehouse that was quite far away from the production processes. BHS has thus created additional spatial capacity that was urgently needed to cope with the increasing order volume.
The investment costs for the hall were almost €2.0 million.
