Tarmac partnership receives Ultra Site status

Becoming an Ultra Site requires contractors and their supply chains registered with the scheme to demonstrate industry-leading best practice and collaboration amongst clients, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers. An Ultra Site is the highest level of attainment with the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

A number of leading contractors are currently piloting Ultra Sites and are assisting the Scheme with its development in readiness for an official launch planned during 2017. The pilot group is also developing acceptance criteria that will need to be met.

Councillor Kevin Greaves, chairman of the Transport and Highways Committee at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “As a large public sector organisation, the County Council has a duty to be an example to others in delivering best practice, so I’m delighted that our successful, ongoing partnership with Tarmac has been awarded this prestigious accolade.

“The County Council has recently established a new joint-venture company, Via East Midlands, to deliver Highways and Fleet services. Via and Tarmac will be working together to build upon this success and look for ways to further develop our partnership.”
