The Wheatsheaf Group invests in David Ball Group
The UK’s David Ball Group has received an investment from the Wheatsheaf Group. David Ball Group will utilise this to develop its PUDLO brand concrete waterproofing system, as well as to commercialise Cemfree – its patented, low-carbon concrete.
The Wheatsheaf Group, the investment arm of the Grosvenor Estate, is actively investing in businesses that are developing solutions that address the strain on resources caused by the changing world population.
“We are very excited at the prospect of working with David Ball Group to accelerate the development of the business,” said Anthony James, Wheatsheaf’s Chief Investment Officer. “David Ball Group is an established business which in Cemfree has developed a new product which has the potential to revolutionise the construction industry, both in the UK and globally. The investment into David Ball Group aligns with our strategy to invest into businesses and technologies which provide commercially viable solutions, to address the global challenges a growing population places on the demand for resources, and the impact exploiting these resources can have on the natural environment.”
“We are delighted with the investment by Wheatsheaf. We were keen to find an experienced and dynamic investor who would not only bring skills to the board but assist with accelerating the growth of the business in the UK and overseas. Wheatsheaf has a strong focus on investing and supporting sustainable technologies and shares our belief that Cemfree provides a significant opportunity for reducing carbon emissions within the construction sector,” added David Ball, Founder and Chairman. “The level of interest generated by Cemfree demonstrates the determination of the global cement and concrete industry to reduce its environmental impact with innovative business-led solutions.”
