Loesche to supply Göltas Cimento’s first VRM for cement grinding

World Cement,

Göltas Cimento has contracted Loesche to supply a VRM of the type LM 56.3+3 in order to increase the cement grinding capacity at its plant in Isparta. The company operates two clinker production lines in Isparta, about 130 km north of Antalya, Turkey. As part of the existing lines, Göltas Cimento already successfully operates two Loesche VRMs; one for raw material grinding and the other for coal grinding.

In order to increase the cement grinding capacity onsite, Göltas Cimento and Loesche have signed a contract for the supply of a third VRM. The chosen VRM (type LM 56.3+3) will be producing at least three different cement types, from standard OPC cement to various types of composite cements. The mill is expected to boost production rates, which are predicted to reach 230 tph.

Loesche’s innovative compact plant design for cement grinding plants was a major reason behind Göltas Ciment choosing Loesche as its supplier for a new VRM. This design concept ensured that the grinding plant could be built into the very limited available space. The compact plant design eliminates the necessity for a large and expensive mill building. This leads to savings in the costs for structural steelworks and civil works as well as labour and extended erection time, which would be necessary without a compact design.

The advanced Loesche technology, with high availability and very low energy consumption of the complete grinding plant, were further decision factors for Göltas Cimento to choose Loesche as its supplier.

These features are possible due to the company’s newly developed LDC classifier. This classifier is equipped with a patented gas flow straightener called “VORTEX Rectifier” which ensures an already homogeneous airstream at the classifier exit. Due to this, a horizontal mill exit directly into the mill filter is possible. This leads, for example, into a reduced pressure drop of the mill system and therefore savings in the specific power consumption of the complete grinding system.
