World Cement,

ThyssenKrupp is strengthening its plant technology capabilities in Russia by integrating OOO Uhde and OOO Polysius to become OOO ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions (RUS). The step will come into effect as of 13 May 2015. The integration and regionalisation of the plant technology business worldwide is part of ThyssenKrupp’s ‘Strategic Way Forward’. It follows the overriding goal of integrating ThyssenKrupp’s businesses more closely so as to create sustainable value as a diversified industrial group.

The Russian operations are being strengthened by consolidating the company’s engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services in chemical, petrochemical, cement and other industrial plants, as well as its expertise in bulk materials handling and minerals processing in a new joint hub with more than 400 employees in Dzerzhinsk and Nizhny Novgorod. In addition, the company is represented in Moscow through a further location.

Under the roof of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions (RUS), the plant technology operations will be managed in two divisions: Process Technologies and Resource Technologies. Process Technologies is focused on engineering, procurement and construction for chemical, refinery and other industrial plants, while Resource Technologies offers a comprehensive product portfolio and a wide sales and service network to customers in the mining, cement, mineral processing and materials handling industries.

“Combining the strengths of our successful long-standing plant technology companies and acting as one company on the global stage in the future will increase our impact particularly in the regions and enable us to carry out projects worldwide on a whole new scale,” said Dr Hans Christoph Atzpodien, CEO of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions.

Dr Sven Mueller-Rinke, Managing Director of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions (RUS), added: “Being part of the global network of one of the world’s leading engineering and construction firms while at the same time strengthening our organisation in Russia will help us serve our clients’ needs even better. Based on proven technologies and our long-standing experience on the Russian market, we can offer comprehensive solutions and services from a single source.”
