World Cement,

On 13 September, construction was officially completed on the Bridgestone tyre manufacturing plant in Ulyanovsk. The ceremony was performed by the governor of the Ulyanovsk region, Mr. Sergey Morozov.

The new 100 00 m2 plant is built on an 80 ha site in the Zavolzhye industrial zone in the Ulyanovsk region. The current constructed plant has a maximum planned production capacity of 12 000 tyre a day and is the first production plant for Bridgestone in Russia.

Tebodin’s scope consisted of the full range of EPCm services for which the contract was signed in August 2014. The detailed design part of the scope was executed in close cooperation with Tebodin in Ukraine, using their growing experience in BIM.

From Tebodin side Barry Barendregt, Project & Engineering Manager, attended the ceremony: ‘We are proud of this important milestone, finalizing the construction of the biggest tire plant in Russia. The length of the main building is almost 1 km. The project covered all our main services including project management, permitting, concept, basic and detailed design, procurement, construction management and commissioning support. Being involved from the beginning till final commissioning was a great experience, which clearly could only be achieved with the continuous support and the professional attitude of all the involved team members.’
