World Cement,
Cemex is constantly looking to improve and in Poland this has manifested itself in the company’s involvement with the Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute (CIOP-PIB), which has improved Cemex’s safety rating every year for the past three years.
CIOP-PIB focuses on improving working conditions through research in fields including labour protection and occupational safety, as well as evaluating its member organisations on their performance.
This year Cemex’s operations in Poland received the institutes’ highest recognition for achieving continuous improvement in working conditions, safety and for promoting healthy habits within employees. In 2014 the team received a Green card, followed by a Silver card in 2015. This year its performance merited a Gold card.
Qualifying for a Gold Card requires maintaining rates of occupational disease and accidents below the Polish national average. Additionally, recipients must have implemented an Occupational Health & Safety Management System and consistent preventive activity leading to the improvement of H&S within the company.
