Sandvik Construction has launched its new QE241 heavy-duty scalper that is compact and easy to transport.

The QE241 was designed based on customer feedback and, although primarily targeted towards the European market, is suited to all small end users where performance, versatility, transportation and set-up times are particularly important. The QE241 still shares common characteristics with its larger siblings, including a two way split configuration option and sequential start-up.

Capable of scalping before or after a small crusher, the QE241 features a heavy-duty variable speed belt feeder and an aggressive 3500 mm x 1240 mm double deck screen box, thereby offering the largest scalping areas in its class. This, combined with the banana-type bottom deck arrangement, will provide an efficient screening solution.

With a choice of screen material available, the QE241 is a highly versatile unit that can be configured to suit requirements, with its robust chassis designed to be compatible for both two-way or three-way split versions.

Designed for ease of transport, the 17 500 kg model comes complete with hydraulically folding tail and side conveyors, along with a rigid one-piece hopper for quick set-up times. This is beneficial for contractors who need to travel quickly between sites.

Ease of maintenance is ensured through the hydraulic jack up facility on the screen box that allows access to the bottom deck for service and screen media changes.
