Eurocement has signed a contract worth US$128 million with China’s CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd (part of the Sinomach Group) for the supply of equipment, design, installation supervision and staff training for the construction of its new ‘Akhangarancement’ plant in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region. The plant will have a designed capacity of 2.4 million tpa of cement and commissioning is scheduled for 2016.
The contract includes the supply of a complete set of equipment necessary for the construction of the new dry process plant, including mechanical equipment, kilns, installation cyclone heat exchangers, crushers, mills, electrical and automation equipment and instrumentation. Compared with standard indicators, the energy efficiency of the new plant will be doubled and productivity will be more than tripled.
"The transition to a new technology platform will be carried out without interrupting existing production lines. Implementation of the new cement plant with the modern dry method will significantly improve the environmental situation in the region," said Mikhail Skorokhod, President of the Eurocement Group.
