Lafont to step down as LafargeHolcim co-chair

Bruno Lafont, Co-Chairman of LafargeHolcim’s board of directors and the former Chairman and CEO of Lafarge SA, is to stand down from the board of LafargeHolcim.
According to a company media release, Lafont has decided not to stand for re-election at the next annual general meeting.
Lafont joined Lafarge in 1983, holding various positions in finance and international operations, before becoming Group Executive Vice President – Finance in 1995. He was appointed to the board of Lafarge in 2005 and became CEO in 2006. He was appointed Chairman in 2007, serving until the company’s merger with Holcim in 2015.
“The board of directors wishes to express its warmest appreciation to Bruno Lafont for the many years of service and his invaluable contribution to the successful merger of Lafarge and Holcim,” the company said.
