Sinoma completes Holcim projects

Sinoma Tianjin has confirmed the completion of the Holcim Azerbaijan project, which has been awarded FAC and PAC Certificates by the employer. The FAC certificate for the clinker production line was signed on 27 March, while the PAC for the cement silo and coal meal grinding system was signed on 28 December.

In Ecuador, the GU3 project phase I, contracted to Sinoma Tianjin, has also been awarded PAC by the employer, Holcim Ecuador. Once completed, the 4500 tpd greenfield clinker production line will be the largest in Ecuador.

Chinese action on municipal waste

China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection, Development and Reform Commission has joined with the Ministry of Industry Information, the Bureau of Energy and others to state that the use of municipal waste and sludge as an alternative fuel in the cement production process should be developed. They state that the use of municipal waste and sludge in the cement kiln would not create ‘secondary pollution’, not would it require additional land, and thus the building materials industry should proceed with developing a co-processing operation mechanism.

China National Building Materials’ Chairman meets Eurocement delegation

On 19 May, Song Zhiping, Chairman of China National Building Materials Group Corporation met with Mr. Skorokhod of Eurocement Group and the delegation he led. Huang Anzhong, Deputy General Manager of China National Building Materials Group Corporation and Wei Feng, Assistant General Manager and General Manager of the International Cooperation Department attended the talks.

The two sides summarised and planned the recent cooperative cement project, expressed satisfaction with work of the previous stage and carried out consultations and deployment of work of the next stage. Meanwhile, as world class leading enterprises, the two sides exchanged ideas over the current situation and development of the global cement industry, and the intention to further strengthen cooperation of the two groups in the cement field and other fields of building materials.

The partnership of the cement project marks the strategic cooperation of the two groups, opening up the opportunity for the further in-depth cooperation.
