The Regional Report in the October 2014 issue of World Cement focuses on India and South Asia. This includes an article by Lucky Cement Limited, which provides an overview of the development, expansion and potential of the Pakistani cement industry, as well as a case study on the use of red mud as an alternative raw material by India’s Dalla Cement. In addition, grinding technology specialist Gebr. Pfeiffer outlines the company’s success in India over the last two decades, while Paul Maxwell-Cook looks at investment and infrastructure in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Bangladesh. To round off the feature, World Cement has also created an infographic on the region, which can be downloaded below.
The October issue also covers bagging and packing, a tour of the Indocement Citeureup plant in Indonesia, as well as a special feature on lime that includes a tour of the Steetley Dolomite Whitwell Plant.
