ThyssenKrupp Polysius wins contract for second Holcim Indonesia cement plant

ThyssenKrupp Polysius has won a US$250 million contract to construct a second cement plant for PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk. The plant will be located near Tuban on the northern coast of Java, with production due to begin in 2015.

Holcim Indonesia has a production capacity of 8.2 million tpa and is one of the country’s top 3 cement manufacturers. ThyssenKrupp Polysius is building Tuban 1, which is due to commence operation in June 2013. Tuban 1 and Tuban 2 will each have a cement capacity of 1.7 million tpa. ThyssenKrupp Polysius is supplying state-of-the-art equipment covering raw material preparation, clinker production, cement loading and fuel preparation. A POLAB laboratory automation system is being installed for quality monitoring and control.
