Siemens wins Indocement contract

World Cement,

Indonesia’s PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. (Indocement) has contracted The Siemens Drive Technologies Division to upgrade the process control system at its cement plants. The current system will be upgraded to Cemat, a process control system based on Simatic PCS 7, in three phases over a period of 3 years. The new system will provide reliable and safe plant operation, with the advantage of simple maintenance. The flexible system architecture means it will be possible to install the system within a short time frame and without interrupting the operation of the plant. The new system will be installed in six of Indocement’s 12 cement production lines.

Siemens’ scope of supply includes I/O modules and control cabinets, PLC controllers, as well as control and engineering consoles. The company will also be responsible for software engineering, supply, installation, signal tests and commissioning.

Indocement, which is part of the HeidelbergCement Group, operates nine plants in Citeureup, two in Cirebon and one in Tarjun.
