Caribbean Cement Co. undergoes significant restructuring

In order to improve health and safety, as well as production performance, Jamaican cement manufacturer, Caribbean Cement Co. underwent an extensive JMD$875 million reconstruction in 4Q17. The company considered 2017 a transition year, introducing workforce development programmes and cross-training with other CEMEX cement plants.

“After defining 2017 as a year of transition, the Board of Directors is now focused on consolidation of ongoing initiatives in health and safety, and roll out of a two-year maintenance plan to ensure improved production performance and cement output,” stated Peter Donkersloot, Director of Caribbean Cement Co.

Caribbean Cement Co. continues to work by its standard of ‘Building a Greater Jamaica’ and its 2017 Corporate Social Responsibility programme impacted directly on 200 000 Jamaicans.
