Ambuja Cements receives Assocham CSR Excellence Award

Ambuja Cements Ltd received the first runner up award at the Assocham CSR Excellence Awards, held during the 6th Global Corporate Social Responsibility Summit in New Delhi. Assocham established the CSR Excellence Awards in 2008 to reward exemplary work in the field of corporate social responsibility and promote CSR among the major industries and in the corporate world.

The company were recognised for the outstanding contribution of the Ambuja Cement Foundation to the local community. Pearl Tiwari, Director of the Ambuja Cement Foundation and President of Sustainability, collected the award from Kapil Sibbal, Minister for Communications and Information Technology.

Established in 1993, the Ambuja Cement Foundation is the corporate social responsibility wing of Ambuja Cements Ltd that works with the communities located around Ambuja’s production sites. The Foundation has worked in twelve states across the country on a variety of projects related to water conservation, sustainable agriculture, health and sanitation, local youth and education, HIV and AIDS awareness, economic enhancement and the promotion of self-help groups for women.
